You worked on a movie so hard and for you to go through all that is insane. I’m so glad we will actually see your vision of YOUR Justice League. No one deserves this more than you. Such a nice dude whose made amazing movies IMO.
ridiculous as it may be since we’re all tiny little ants whose actions mean nothing in the grand scheme of time and space, i do feel pride for ZS’s justice league. getting a half finished movie that was jarring in its direction and character iterations and silently resigning because there’s worse things in life was very sobering. not because i was promised a great film and was lied to, but because i enjoyed snyder’s dceu vision from the start and knew i’d enjoy the end of his trilogy just as much. i want to note that i readily acknowledge some people were running purely on what was shown in trailers and press interviews so their betrayal, for a lack of a better word that doesn’t make me sound like an entitled little shit, was worse in the end. 2017′s justice league film wasn’t the biggest mockery we could’ve gotten but it was a mockery of the material we’d gotten before still, tenfold as a fan
both those who enjoyed snyder’s vision and those who didn’t got the short end of the stick in 2017. but the thing is: we still got something. that was still very important to the community back then because in relative terms, the cinematic universe had barely started. and i was okay with that for a while because it’s not worth spending energy on something that didn’t work out, especially when a tragedy happened to ZS and his family, and a film means nothing compared to that. i have the comics to fall back to, i have the correct versions of the characters in my head so i can enjoy the parts i can choose to enjoy like i always have. in the end, and fully knowing even before ray fisher came forward with his revelations about his abhorrent mistreatment during the production of the film, that WB and joss whedon were shit from the start. sometimes there’s only so much you can do
we’re now getting the version we were supposed to get four years ago with the vocal support of the cast and it’s not about being petty or entitled: i could go the rest of my life without seeing what snyder wanted us to see. but i’ll be damned if i don’t feel pride for a project the man clearly worked hard on and deserves to have properly consumed by an audience that can love or hate it but receive it all the same
i know i’ll love it because i’m finally getting the final link to an arc i’ve liked from the start. i went from freaking out in Man of Steel seeing wayne’s satellites for half a second to having the justice league fight the big bad. fuck if i’m not going to celebrate that. fuck if i’m not going to celebrate the possibility the joker, alternate dream reality or not, gets punched or killed horribly<3
